LED Lighted Christmas Tree

LED-Light Emitting Diode is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as an indicator lamps in many device, and are increasingly used for lighting. Earlier LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but now a days there are many modern version available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with a  very high brightness.

When a light-emitting diode is forward biased (switched-on), electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the forms of photos. This effect is called as electroluminescent and the color of the light is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor.

LEDs are powerful enough for a room lighting and also consumes low power. Hence celebrate 2010 Christmas with the LED lighted Christmas Tree.
