Hi-tech robots search ocean floor for ancient shipwrecks

Robot is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent. In practice, it is usually an electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer or electronic programming, and is this able to do tasks on its own. It has ability to interact with physical objects and to be given electronic programming to do a specific task or to do a whole range of tasks or actions. It may also have ability to perceive and absorb data non physical objects, or its local physical environments, or to process data, or to respond to various stimuli. This is in contrast to simple mechanical device such as a gear or a hydraulic press or any other item which has no processing ability and which does tasks through purely mechanical process and motion.

Mobile robot have the capability to move around in their environment and are not fixed to one physical location. An example of mobile robot that is common use today is the automated guided vehicle. Robots can be used for Car production, packaging, Automated guided Vehicles, dirty jobs, dangerous jobs, inaccessible tasks, space probe, home automation for elderly and disabled, duct cleaning , military and many other application.

The link below shows how Hi-tech robots can search ocean floor for ancient shipwrecks.

LED Lighted Christmas Tree

LED-Light Emitting Diode is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as an indicator lamps in many device, and are increasingly used for lighting. Earlier LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but now a days there are many modern version available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with a  very high brightness.

When a light-emitting diode is forward biased (switched-on), electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the forms of photos. This effect is called as electroluminescent and the color of the light is determined by the energy gap of the semiconductor.

LEDs are powerful enough for a room lighting and also consumes low power. Hence celebrate 2010 Christmas with the LED lighted Christmas Tree.

Solar Tracker

A solar panel (photovoltaic panel) is a packaged interconnected to assembly of solar cells, also known as photovoltaic cells. The solar panel can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generated and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications.

Because a single solar panel can only produce a limited amount of power, many installations contains several panels and hence the series of panels is known as a photovoltaic array. A photovoltaic installation typically includes an array of solar panels, an inverter, batteries and interconnection wiring.

How can we set up solar panels to track the motion of the sun across the sky to maximize power output?

Will there be a PVR under your Christmas tree this year?

PVR- Personal video recorder is a consumer electronics device that records a video in digital format to a disk drive or memory card. These days video recorder and most recently DVD recorder has given more choice to an individual to watch whatever they want to watch on television. PVR is an clever piece of equipment that takes the functionality and ease of recording any programme to a completely new level.

So with the arrival of digital recording and viewing on DVD players, those TV memories really can last forever. The features and technology used in every PVR available can be compared online, along with their prices. Combination machines which combine a PVR and DVD recorder and, in some instances, a video recorder too, can also be found.
